January is Mentoring Month!

January is national Mentoring Month in Canada. What better way to celebrate than to start our 9th cohort of mentors and mentees in ERIEC’s Career Mentorship Program! It’s our largest cohort ever with 27 mentees matched!

The mentees are from all over the world: Bangladesh, China, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Ethiopia, Eritrea, India, Nigeria, Philippines, and Pakistan. This group is interesting for many reasons, but one of those reasons is the number of Nigerians in our cohort.  We’ve got 6 professionals from Nigeria!

Daniel from Nigeria and Ishpreet from Aramark Canada working hard. This is Ishpreet’s second time being a mentor! They are both accounting professionals.

We are very happy to have so many enthusiastic and committed mentors on board too! Here are the organizations from which the mentors come:

Alberta Health Services (read their article about a previous mentorship experience with us!)

Aramark Canada

ATB Financial

City of Edmonton

Dresser-Rand Canada

Mary from the Philippines and Niki from Alberta Health Services are thrilled to begin their mentoring relationship! They are Health Care Management Professionals.

Check our website to see which other organizations have participated in our program.

ERIEC has many organizations with whom we partner, and to whom we are grateful.  We thank Alberta Health Services and TELUS for their ongoing partnership with our program! We also want to send a big shout out to CGA Alberta – thanks to their promotion of our program with their members, we’ve had 14 CGA mentors recently!!

You can see from the photos above – mentoring is fun!  Why not celebrate National Mentoring Month by becoming a mentor or a mentee?
