When I moved to Edmonton as a newcomer, navigating the Canadian job market with a specialized background in technology transfer, intellectual property, and life sciences felt daunting. Joining ERIEC’s Career Mentorship Program quickly became a turning point.
From the start, the ERIEC team made me feel genuinely welcomed and supported. Shashi, Jacky, and Vidya took the time to understand my unique background and helped me see that a non-traditional career path could still lead to meaningful opportunities. Through workshops, networking events, and thoughtful guidance, I gained clarity, confidence, and a better understanding of the Canadian professional landscape.
I was also fortunate to be mentored by Siddharth Janakiraman, whose support and professional introductions helped me build valuable connections within the life sciences sector.
Today, I work as a Project Manager in life sciences, and I continue to benefit from the skills, insights, and encouragement gained through ERIEC. This experience reinforced that with the right mentorship and support, newcomers can find roles that truly align with their expertise.
