Employment Programs (EP) working group

The employment programs working group was established in September of 2009 and focuses on two primary objectives:

  • To engage employers in integrating immigrants into their labour force
  • To facilitate development of innovative labour market access programs that are sustainable and address labour market needs and immigrant skills (e.g. mentorship programs, information, referrals and other employment related programs).

Marketing and Communications (M&C) working group

Established in September of 2009, the initiatives of this working group help ensure business, government and stakeholders learn about ERIEC, its programs and resources and how they can best access the information they need to fill their labour needs with skilled, internationally trained new residents.

Proposed working groups – 2010/2011

Sustainable Funding working group

The purpose of this Working Group is to identify future funding opportunities and sources for ERIEC and develop a strategic funding plan with less reliance on public sector funding by 2011.

Intergovernmental Relations working group

The purpose of the Intergovernmental Relations Working Group is to identify systemic barriers in policy and procedure that prevent the integration of immigrants into the labour market and work with government and legislative bodies to address these barriers.
