RISE Employer Awards

The RISE Employer Awards recognize leadership and innovation in recruiting, integrating and retaining skilled immigrants.

For many skilled immigrants to Canada, the road to success is often thwarted because their education, training and experience are not recognized by many employers. Accreditation, Canadian work experience, access to information regarding opportunities and requirements are often difficult to acquire if they are not familiar with the processes and procedures.

The Edmonton Mennonite Centre for Newcomers (EMCN) has been active in helping skilled immigrants receive accreditation for their skills, and they partner with other agencies such as the Edmonton Region Immigrant Employment Council (ERIEC) through mentorship programs to help newcomers acquire jobs that match their skills.
